Does the Resort include any meals in nightly rates?
All guests may enjoy a healthy and fresh Continental Breakfast each morning in The Grove from 7am-10am. A full Breakfast menu is also available for additional a la carte dining with applicable charges.
Is there a Resort Fee?
We do not charge a resort fee.
Is there a Service Charge?
The Resort does have a 10% service fee that is added to the nightly room rate. This service fee covers gratuities for our guest services staff to include bellmen, butler service and guest services. This service fee does not cover gratuities for any food and beverage services, Spa or activities. We welcome gratuities for our colleagues in these areas at your discretion.
Does the Resort provide complimentary Wi-Fi?
Yes. The Resort provides complimentary Wi-Fi throughout guest accommodations and the common areas of the Resort.
What are the taxes at the Resort?
There is a 9% tax applied to guest accommodations. Food and beverage, Spa services, activities and retail items are taxed at 12.5%.
What is the best mode of transportation from the airport in Belize City to Placencia?
There are three easy ways to get from the Philip S. Goldson International Airport to Placencia:
- Guests may simply rent a vehicle at the airport.
- The Resort can provide a private pick-up for guests from the airport to the resort. It is a beautiful and approximately 2.5-hour drive through the countryside to arrive in Placencia.
- If you prefer to take a regional flight, both Maya Air and Tropic Air offer several flights daily to Placencia Airstrip. Our concierge can assist you with any of these arrangements.
How do guests get to the Island from Placencia mainland?
Prana Maya Island Resort provides a boat shuttle to/from the docks of Placencia to the resort upon request from 7am until 9pm. If you plan to arrive later in the evening, simply arrange for your later pick-up with our concierge. It is a short, less than 10-minute boat ride.
What currency does the Resort accept?
Belize and the Resort accept both the US dollar as well as Belizean currency.
What is the primary language of Belize?
English is the primary language in the country of Belize.
If I am staying in a Villa, how can I arrange to have my kitchen stocked with items I would like to enjoy?
Our concierge will be delighted to pre-stock grocery items for you prior to your arrival. Simply contact them for a provisions form to complete your requests. These items will be charged to your room folio.
Are dining reservations required forThe Grove at Prana Maya Island Resort?
Reservations are not required for Resort guests. For guests not staying on property, we do encourage reservations.
Does the Resort have a Fitness Center?
Yes, the Resort provides a Fitness Center in The Inn building, and it is open 24 hours for guests ages 15 and older unless accompanied by an adult.
How can I plan for off-island activities and excursions?
Our Concierge will be delighted to make these arrangements ahead of your arrival if you wish. Or, once you are on-property, we can certainly confirm, change or add excursions as requested.
What time is Check-In and Check-Out?
Check-In time at the Resort is at 3pm. Check-Out time is 11am. If you wish to request an early arrival or later departure time, please contact our Guest Services Manager. We will make every effort to try to accommodate your request.
Does the Resort have a Dress Code?
Prana Maya Island Resort offers a relaxed, yet upscale experience and the dress code reflects that. For daytime and around the beach/pool areas, dress is casual and comfortable. When dining in The Grill, we do request a coverup and shoes are required. For dinner or evening service, smart-casual resort wear is appropriate. Swimwear and flip-flops are not appropriate for evenings in The Grill or Cocktail and Ice Bar.
Is smoking allowed at the Resort?
No, Prana Maya Island Resort is a smoke-free Resort. In addition to indoor areas, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property to include outdoor patios and balconies. A $250 cleaning fee will be imposed upon observation of smoking indoors or outdoors at the Resort.
Is the resort pet friendly?
We welcome pets in our Villa accommodations with a limit of two small dogs per Villa. Please advise us in advance of your stay so that we can provide added pet amenities. There will be a $200 pet fee applied for your stay.
Is the Spa available to non-resort guests?
The Spa at Prana Maya Island Resort provides five treatment rooms and is available for Resort guests as well as those staying off-property. To accommodate our guests who have traveled to stay with us, we cannot accept off-property appointments greater than 48 hours in advance.
Does the Resort charge a deposit?
We do request a deposit of two nights’ accommodation to confirm your reservation. This deposit is fully refundable if cancellations are received at least 30 days prior to arrival; during holiday and festive seasons, cancellations must be received at least 60 days prior to arrival to receive a refund.
What is your Hurricane Policy?
In the event that Prana Maya Island Resort is directly impacted by a hurricane or threat of a hurricane while the guest is on property, we will gladly offer a certificate for a return stay for the number of unused evenings.
- Cancellations: If a hurricane warning is issued by the US National Weather Center, passengers due to travel within 72 hours of the warning will not incur a penalty for rescheduling their stay.
- No show: No show penalties will also be waived from the day a hurricane warning is issued by the US National Weather center and up to 5 days after normal activities are reinitiated at the resort.
- Early departures: In the event of a hurricane threat, guests who are currently on the property and wish to depart early may do so without incurring an early penalty and will receive a certificate for the number of unused nights, valid for travel within one calendar year from the original reserved dates, subject to availability.
Traveling with Children?
We are pleased to welcome families to Prana Maya Island Resort. Guests 18 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
To help make your stay as comfortable as possible, deluxe AeroBeds and Pack 'n Play cribs may be requested in advance. As quantities are limited, we recommend requesting these items at the time of booking, as availability cannot be guaranteed.
Children ages 3 and older are included in the maximum occupancy of each guest accommodation.
